GK water gas cooler are a family of heat exchangers designed for CO? applications and can be used as gas coolers in transcritical systems, heat recovery heat exchangers or condensers in subcritical systems. The primary medium (CO?) flows on the tube side, thanks to the high design pressure, while the secondary medium (water or anti-freeze mixtures) runs on the shell side. The countercurrent flow design between the primary and the secondary medium ensures that reduced thermal approaches between the two fluids are possible, thus enhancing the performance of these heat exchangers in both transcritical (gas cooler or heat recovery) or subcritical (condenser) modes.
